The internet is active today. Along with other renders that seem to have originated from the production line, some pictures of the Nintendo Switch 2 have leaked.

These pictures initially surfaced in China before becoming popular on websites like Reddit. This material obviously requires caution, so why are we giving it any credit? It appears that a lot of gamers are remarking that this design aligns with the information Nintendo has been providing internally regarding the Switch's replacement.

The design is remarkably similar to the original Nintendo Switch. It makes sense if Nintendo doesn't want to start from scratch this time. There are minor adjustments, such as two USB-C ports on the top and bottom and distinct joycon triggers. The joycons appear to be magnetic as well.

Let's now review the Switch 2 specifications that have already been provided as very probable and approximations:

  • Handheld mode: Somewhat above PS4 in power before applying DLSS
  • Docked mode: Between PS4 Pro and Xbox Series S before DLSS was applied.
  • RAM: For gaming, 10.5–11 GB of RAM are offered.
To guarantee correct backward compatibility between the two machines, a fraction would be set aside for the Switch 1 operating system.
The system would have more available RAM than the Xbox Series S, although the RAM would be a little slower than that of the PS5 or Xbox Series.
  • There are two very crucial things to remember: AMD CPUs are used in the architecture of the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The comparison is not similar because the Nintendo Switch 2 would have an ARM CPU. It's not a straight line.
Above all, though, the Nintendo Switch 2 would have Tensor cores, which would enable it to utilize Nvidia's DLSS, the greatest rescaling technology currently on the market. This implies that everything we mentioned above might be greatly enhanced, enabling games with modest resolutions to be played at 4K quality.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, anyway!

Stay tuned!
